Gems are one of the rarest and most valuable currencies to come by in Brawl Stars. Gems are almost exclusively used to buy other ingame currencies and commodities like skins and Brawl Boxes.
Of the many things you can use your gems to buy, Brawl Pass is perhaps the most rewarding one. It gives you access to a range of exclusive items which you wouldn’t get from a free pass. However unlike other major games, the season passes do not provide extra gems than the free pass. And at an average rate of 90 gems per season from your free pass, you can only afford a season pass every two to three seasons.
There are two main ways in which you can get your hands on gems in Brawl Stars. One of them is through direct purchase, and the other way is from the rewards you obtain from your free pass.
- Through direct purchase: You can purchase Gem Packs from the store in exchange for real money. To do so,

- Gems as rewards from free pass: Apart from Pin Packs, Boxes and coins, the free pass also rewards you with gems as you progress through it.
The total number of gems you can get from the free pass is about 90 gems per season. In order to get the gems, you will have to collect tokens from battles and to unlock new tiers. You get the gems as you progress through the free pass line.
Bonus: There is yet another third way you can collect gems. You can get gems as bonuses from Brawl Boxes. The chances of which are slim and is this not a guaranteed way to acquire gems. The chances of getting gems as bonuses are higher for higher quality of Brawl Boxes.
