What are the requirements?
There are not that many requirements to change your name, it is quite easy to do. So, you need to full-fill the following requirement only:
- Your King Tower should be at least level-4.
How to change the name?
In Clash Royale when you change your name for the first time its free of cost. It doesn’t require any gems; all it needs is simple clicks. But if you want to change your name second time, then you’ll have to pay gems to do so. The rate of changing names after first time are as follows:
- To change your name 2nd time, it’ll cost 500 gems.
- To change your name 3rd time, it’ll cost 1000 gems.
- To change your name 4th time, it’ll cost 1500 gems.
This will keep on going and adding 500 gems after each try and it can go up-to 10,000 gems. So, depending upon the number of times you’re changing the name, there are two methods you can choose.
- Changing name first time (Free Method):
Changing your profile name for the first time doesn’t cost you anything, it is totally free of cost and easy to do.
Requirements:
- It should be your first time changing your in-game name in Clash Royale.
Step-1: Open Clash Royale and click on the three lines at the top-right corner.
Step-2: Click on settings.
Step-3: After that click on change name.
Step-4: Now a pop-up will appear. Click okay to proceed.
Step-5: Enter your new name and then re-enter the name again.
Step-6: Enter “CONFIRM” and it will change your previous name to your new name.
- Changing name second time or so (Paid Method):
If you are changing your name 2nd time or so. Now you’ll have to pay gems every time you change your name. The rate of changing names after first time are as follows:
- To change your name 2nd time, it’ll cost 500 gems.
- To change your name 3rd time, it’ll cost 1000 gems.
- To change your name 4th time, it’ll cost 1500 gems.
This will keep on going and adding 500 gems after each try and it can go up-to 10,000 gems. 10,000 gems are the max you can go in changing names.

How many times can the name be changed?
There is a limit to change your name in Clash Royale. As for the first time it is free and then afterwards it costs gems. The max gems you can use is up to 10,000 gems, which means you can change your name 21 times.
Are there any restrictions to choose a name?
Yes, there are some ethical restrictions imposed by Supercell. So, it is better to choose your name wisely, because if you use any inappropriate name. Supercell holds the authority to change your name back without refunding the gems, if any gems were used will changing the name. As a suggestion try choosing names from movies, comics or from any game.
